Situated just one mile from the AutoRoute south of Reims, a straight forward 200 mile trip on the A26 from Calais makes Bill's lake easily accessible for carp anglers travelling from Dover by ferry, hovercraft or eurotunnel. If you wish to visit Bill's Lake by helicopter!!! the reference is LONG - 4deg.16°39°E LAT - 48°59°N.
  1. From Calais, take the A26 AutoRoute signposted to Paris and Lille.
  2. After approximately 70 miles (110 km), at the junction of the A26/A1, follow directions to Reims on the A26.
  3. At Reims follow signs for the A26/A4/E17. You will join the A4 towards Troyes.
  4. After approximately 25 miles (40 km) the A4 rejoins the A26 - follow the A26 to St. Gibrien.
  5. Exit the AutoRoute at Junction 17 St. Gibrien turning.
  6. Turn left at the roundabout on the RD3 to Matougues and Avize.
  7. Continue straight at next roundabout for approximately 500 yards and drive to the village of Matougues.
  8. Turn right at the first turning in the village (rue des Dimes) and first right again down the gravel track.
  9. Follow the track along the railway for 500 yards and cross at the crossing (mind the trains ! ) continue along the track for another 500 yards until you see the sign for the lake.
  10. Turn left at the sign for the Lake - you have arrived! If you arrive early, please wait for Bill to arrive. it is not fair to disturb the other anglers !
