Bills Lake 1
The biggest out this week went to only 36lbs but this was part of a fair haul from the Poachers swim.
A Nice report from Phil.....
Hi Bill and Ruth.
REPORT:
Long overnight drive saw me arrive at Lake 1, late for the draw, so I had a limited choice of available pegs. Guess what, the one I wanted was empty.
Thanks to all the others for leaving it for me !! First fish on the Saturday was a Sturgeon, just what I wanted, I love all my lines being wiped out. 2 Bream during the night kept me from a decent nights sleep. The morning came with blazing sun and burnt arms when I awoke to yet another Sturgeon. Ouch ...... in more ways than one. No sign of carp on the hook, only sun bathing on the surface ... taking the p*** or what. Monday provided yet another Sturgeon, doing their usual 'Salmon' leaps, managed to land it with my other rods untouched. Tuesady ...... Bream. Weather changed from the 'desert' sun to lightening, thunder and rain. Suddenly all changed. The carp had decided to feed ... at last. The rest of the week was taken up with the following:
Mirror's: 21lb, 23lb 12oz, 24lb 12oz, 25lbs, 27lb 4oz, 27lb 8oz, 27lb10oz and 35lb 8oz.
Common's: 20lb 4oz and 31lb.
It would be very unfair of me not to mention the yound lad, Wes, in the next peg who was good enough to take the photo's for me, as my fishing buddy Steve Holliday had to cancel 2 days before. Thanks Wesley.
The food as usual was outstanding and Bill and Ruths' company kept smiles on us all, even when the other 8 lads on the lake only managed 4 carp between them. Maybe it was Bills Lake Special bait or the Tiger-Nuts he supplied, they certainly worked for me.
Phil Cowans.
The rest of the lake suffered the MOODY behaviour of the fish who have still yet to spawn properly !!
The Hart group put on a brave face but it's very difficult sitting behing the rods for days with no action. The same fate fell to the lads from the North who won their section from Peg 1 with a massive haul of Bream, Tench and Sturgeon. Great !?

Bills Lake 2
No one on this week as the group chose to go on lake 3 .....gives the lake a real rest as it was really moody over the previuos weeks.
This week it's empty also so the Cooper group next week should see some action.
Fingers crossed.
Have been grass cutting on here today (Tuesday)as saw a fair deal of activity including a bright red Koi right out of the water.

Bills Lake 3
With the weather all over the place the fishing on this previously prolificb water swithched off along with the other waters in the region.
The group broke double figures but this is nothing like the normal catch rate.
Ohh I hope the weather and the fish sort themselves out !!!
